Transition Plan

July 19, 2017

Dear Parents, Guardians, and Staff,

I hope everyone is enjoying the summer break. It goes by so quickly!  I know that you are anxious to learn more information regarding the transition plan for Silver Hill Horace Mann Charter School. Attached is a letter that Superintendent Scully has sent in response to parents at Silver Hill. Superintendent Scully, Assistant Superintendent Fulgoni and I have met at length to discuss future plans for the students at Silver Hill. Superintendent Scully stated that he has no intentions of changing anything at Silver Hill.

Letter from Superintendent Scully to parents/guardians:

I am aware of your concerns and I hope you understand that Jared Fulgoni, the Assistant Superintendent, and I stand by our previous statements and comments regarding Silver Hill.

Children currently there will remain there through the 5th grade. The kindergarten program is in our budget and therefore no changes will be made and free kindergarten remains. The fiscal conditions in the subsequent years will determine how such programs are supported. Where seats are available we always give sibling preference in all of our schools. The current instructional program as in all of our schools, follows the state curriculum standards, thus there will be no changes there.

Thank you for raising your concerns to me.

Sincerely,

James F. Scully

Superintendent of Schools

As the principal of Silver Hill, I want to assure you that you have our combined support and understanding that there will be no changes at Silver Hill. As always, I have the best interest of our students at heart and in any plans going forward. Please do not hesitate to call or e-mail me if you have any questions. I am looking forward to a positive school year!

Warm Regards,

Margaret
