Good Morning Silver Hill Families,

Today is Thursday, March 26, 2020.

As I am sure you have all heard by now, Governor Baker closed all schools until May 4th, 2020.  This saddens us all deeply. We miss the daily interactions with the kids and the ability to truly help them learn new and exciting topics.  Please believe me when I tell you the Silver Hill staff is working so hard together to make this extended leave the most beneficial for your children.  You can expect to see daily schedules to help keep the students more focused and parents less stressed on what is next. You will also see more ZOOM meetings with whole classes being invited, more read alouds by Silver Hill Staff, more community based resources, as well as more guest morning callers. I cannot emphasize how proud I am of the staff at Silver Hill and the parents for their dedication and commitment to the children.  I am also overwhelmed with pride at the many students that have sent in pictures or parents have emailed or called about the work their children are doing! This is surely a difficult time for all and everyone has stepped up to the plate in the Silver Hill community!

Today is Jersey Day  in honor of our favorite sports teams that are not able to play right now.  I hope all of our Jaguars can wear their favorite team jersey and send in a picture for our website!Remember, we need everyone’s help.  Each and everyday there is a competition among some of the district schools about who has more spirit.  We know Jaguars DO so let’s show everyone in the city our spirit! Share those pictures.

Remember tomorrow’s spirit day is Pajama Day – because let’s face it, pajamas are the best part of homeschooling and what better way to end the week!

HAPPY BIRTHDAYS:

We have a special Happy Birthday wish for two Jaguars today, March 26th:

Happy Birthday to: Alexa P., and Ms. Fiore

We hope you both have a fantastic birthday!

AT HOME LEARNING:

We hope everyone is continuing the reading challenge sponsored by HAVERHILL PROMISE.  “I Stayed Home and Read… To Help Stop the Spread!”
Let’s get 100% of Jaguars to take the challenge and read for 20 minutes per day.  We know you can do it, let’s all READ!

The district sent out a survey regarding technology resources at home yesterday.  Please be sure to complete as soon as you can so that the needs of our students can be met as efficiently as possible.

JAGUAR CORNER:

Please remember to keep sharing pictures of you working and playing hard at home! Check out the Silver Hill website under Jaguar Corner for all the latest photos. You can share by emailing me at maryellen.lucas@haverhill-ps.org or posting on PTO FaceBook page. Can’t wait to see what was happening with you all today and throughout the week too!

Joke of the Day:

Wednesday’s joke: How do you stay warm in any room? ?…Answer:…Stay in a corner where it is always 90 degrees!  hahahaha
Today’s joke: What do you call a guy laying on the doorstep?  Answer……You’ll have to listen in to hear the answer tomorrow.

Pledge of Allegiance

Remember, you may pick up a small flag at any of the food distribution locations if you need one.

I pledge Allegiance to the flag
