Dear Silver Hill Families,

Hope you had lots of family fun on this beautiful Sunday!

This year Haverhill Public Schools has adopted the theme, School Everyday. Excessive absences, dismissals, and coming to school late directly impact how you child performs in school. Students with good attendance outperform students who miss school regularly. We need your cooperation as parents and guardians in setting good examples by having your child in school each day on time and not dismissing him/her early. At our first ROARS assembly last Friday, I spoke to the students about the importance of coming to school everyday. Each month the class/classes with the best attendance will be rewarded with a variety of prizes. There is a School Everyday bulletin board in the school lobby that will show which classes are in the lead. I am hoping that EVERY class will win, with all families making your best effort to get your children to School Everyday on time so they can be successful learners!

We are asking for donations for school supplies for families in our school community.  Although we have a school budget, these items can be costly and must be frequently replaced. Any and all items are appreciated, from backpacks, to markers, to pens. There will be a box in the office for you to drop off your donations, and I will be delivering them to the Mt. Washington Alliance on Wednesday, September 26. Thank you in advance for helping our school community!

We will be using our school website as the best way to share information on all school events, including grade level updates, information from our School Adjustment Counselor Amanda Symmes, and our Nurse Kelli Fetty. https://silverhill.haverhill-ps.org   We also have a menu for PTO  https://silverhill.haverhill-ps.org/pto-2/  We are working on getting our website updated, and appreciate any suggestions you may have!

Just a reminder that we serve breakfast starting at 8:30, and all students who are eligible for free lunch are also eligible for breakfast. When mornings are hectic, this is a great opportunity for your child to have his/her breakfast right at school.

Hope you’re easing into the school routines. As always, please call or e-mail if you have any questions.

Warm regards,

Margaret
