Good Morning Jaguars,

Today is Monday March 23, 2020.  I apologize for the late notice but, we are joining in with several other schools for a Spirit Week.

Monday – Super Hero Day 0 in honor of the hospital workers, first responders, grocery employees and all other essential personnel)

Tuesday – Crazy Hair Day / school Colors Day – in honor of hair stylists and schools we miss

Wednesday – Dress like an old person – in honor of the generation most at risk for the virus

Thursday – Jersey Day – in honor of our favorite sports teams that are not able to play right now

Friday – Pajama Day – because let’s face it, pajamas are the best part of homeschooling!

I also sent out a survey yesterday for parents to try and determine what you feel is going well so far and what you need more help with moving forward.  Please complete so that we can better help you and your child.

HAPPY BIRTHDAYS:

We have a special Happy Birthday wish for four Jaguars today:

Happy Spring and Happy Birthday to:

Miles P., Yessiah B, Ashley T., and Ashly M.

We hope you all have fun-filled birthdays!

AT HOME LEARNING:

I hope everyone is joining the reading challenge sponsored by HAVERHILL PROMISE.  “I Stayed Home and Read… To Help Stop the Spread”! Let’s see if we can get 100% of Jaguars to take the challenge and read for 20 minutes per day.  Remember to log your reading and send it in weekly to www.haverhillpromise.com/reading-challenge or team@haverhillpromise.com.

I will post any winners I hear about!  We know you can do it, let’s all READ!

I also heard Mrs Bouchard posted a fantastic read aloud on the PTO Facebook page.  Be sure to check it out and watch for more staff to post some as well!

JAGUAR CORNER:

Please remember to keep sharing pictures of you working hard on the packets given by your teachers or working online with STMATH, EPIC, or dressed up for Spirit week!  Check out the Silver Hill website under Jaguar Corner for all the latest photos. You can share by emailing me at maryellen.lucas@haverhill-ps.org. Can’t wait to see what was happening with you all today and throughout the week too!

Joke of the Day:

Friday’s joke:What did one ocean say to the other ocean????     Answer: Nothing!…he just waved! HAHAHAHA

Today’s joke: What kind of bow can’t be tied?   Answer: coming on Tuesday

Let’s end with our Silver Hill Jaguar Pledge:

I pledge today and everyday, to show respect in every way.

I take ownership for my behavior, with a positive attitude towards my neighbor

Responsibility is on my mind, I try my best every time.

Safety is seen throughout the school, we care about others and follow the rules.

Silver Hill Jaguars, ROAR!!!!!!

Remember to make us PROUD, follow the pledge in and out of school!

Remember to keep learning, stay active, and wash your hands frequently!

This week, there will be special guests doing the announcements as well.  Who do you think will greet you tomorrow? We shall see ….

Have a great day, we miss you all,

Mary Ellen Lucas
