Jaguar Journal 11-27-22

2022-2023 SCHOOL YEAR

Hello Silver Hill Families,Happy Sunday! I hope you all are having an excellent holiday weekend and that you had time to do the things you wanted to do, whether they be relax, read, walk, watch football, eat, shop, etc… 🙂

These upcoming days look to be a little warmer in the 50s, but please be sure your children come to school with warm coats, hats, and gloves. We will be having outdoor recess as much as possible through the winter and we want to be sure all are protected from the colder weather!

Attendance Contest – Starting the Monday after Thanksgiving, we will be having an attendance contest for the 25 days of school between Thanksgiving and Winter Break. All students who come to school on time will get to fill out a raffle ticket daily and we’ll have drawings for Amazon gift cards on the 23rd!

From Nurse Kelli – Vision and hearing screenings will continue through the month of November. If your child wears glasses, please be sure they are wearing them to school to avoid unnecessary vision screening referrals, and so they are ready to learn! Please contact me if you have any questions or concerns.

Grade 5 Band Concert: Tuesday, December 6th – Beginning Band Silver Hill/Consentino and Consentino Advanced Band students (as well as the Consentino Chorus and The Bucketheads) will present their first indoor concert since December 2019! The concert will take place in the Consentino cafeteria. The concert will begin at 6:30, and should be completed by 7:15.

Take care and be well.

Donna Martin, Principal

For Elementary/PreK/K School Parents:

Showing up matters for R.E.A.L because it is an opportunity to:

  • Build Routines
  • Increase Engagement
  • Provide Access to resources
  • Support Learning

RoutinesDaily attendance routines can reduce stress, increase your child’s self-confidence, and lay a foundation for good attendance in later grades.

EngagementParticipation in school helps your child connect with other children and adults and get excited about learning.

Access to ResourcesSchools can give you access to meals, physical and mental health care and other supports, and fun enrichment activities (sports, clubs, music, afterschool, and summer programs, etc.).

Learning: Children learn best from hand-on activities and through meaningful interactions with their teacher and other students.

A reminder that it is very important for your child to be on time to school each day! Please reach out to your child’s teacher or school adjustment counselor if you need any support with getting your child to school.
