Jaguar Journal 12-11-22

Hello Silver Hill Families,Happy Sunday! I hope you all are having an excellent, albeit very cold, weekend! Let’s hope there is not too much upcoming snow!

Report Cards were released to the SchoolBrains parent portal last Wednesday, December 7th for Grades K-8. If you need Technology Support to log on to SchoolBrains to see your children’s report cards, please click on THIS LINK to see how to get support. If you have any questions about your children’s report card, please contact their teachers.

I know they often resist outerwear, but please be sure your children come to school with warm coats, hats, and gloves. We will be having outdoor recess as much as possible through the winter and we want to be sure all are protected from the colder weather!

Lost and Found – We have a large number of sweatshirts, coats, water bottles, etc. in the Lost and Found. Please have your children check for anything they may be missing.

**Please also be sure to send your children with snacks for snacktime.**

PBIS Rewards Letter – Please check your child’s backpack this week for a PBIS Rewards Letter. At Silver Hill we use PBIS Rewards for students to earn points/rewards throughout the day by meeting our behavioral expectations. I hope your child has already told you all about the program! Now families can log onto the app and track your children’s progress!

**Clarification for PBIS** – Kindergarten does NOT use the PBIS Rewards system yet… they are using Apple Stickers with their students.

Take care and be well.

Sincerely,

Donna Martin, Principal

PTO CORNER

Next Meeting of 2022-2023: Monday, January 9th at 6:00 pm in the Silver Hill Library. All are welcome! We look forward to seeing you there!

Silver Graphics will be delivered to the school on 12/16. Orders will be sent to the classrooms to be brought home on 12/16 and/or 12/19. If you would prefer to pick them up yourself, please let us know and we will leave them in the front office. If your order contains glass or ceramic items, you may not want to have kids bring them home on the bus.
The Lil’ Shoppers Holiday Shoppe will be held on Tuesday, December 20, from 5-7:30pm in the school cafeteria. This is a great opportunity for the kids to buy inexpensive gifts for their family and friends! We will have treats, hot cocoa and a craft. More information will be going home early this week.
We will need holiday helpers to assist the kids with shopping, as well as helping to restock merchandise and ring up purchases. Please sign up at the link below if you are interested.  Thank you!

ATTENDANCE MATTERS!

For Elementary/PreK/K School Parents:

Showing up matters for R.E.A.L because it is an opportunity to:

  • Build Routines
  • Increase Engagement
  • Provide Access to resources
  • Support Learning

RoutinesDaily attendance routines can reduce stress, increase your child’s self-confidence, and lay a foundation for good attendance in later grades.

EngagementParticipation in school helps your child connect with other children and adults and get excited about learning.

Access to ResourcesSchools can give you access to meals, physical and mental health care and other supports, and fun enrichment activities (sports, clubs, music, afterschool, and summer programs, etc.).

Learning: Children learn best from hand-on activities and through meaningful interactions with their teacher and other students.

A reminder that it is very important for your child to be on time to school each day! Please reach out to your child’s teacher or school adjustment counselor if you need any support with getting your child to school.
