ABSENCES

Parents/guardians MUST call the office (978-374-3448) to inform the school if a child is absent. You may leave a message on our answering machine as well. The Haverhill Public School attendance policy is referenced in the HPS District Handbook. Failure to call will result either in an automated telephone call or a home visit. Five consecutive days absent requires a note from the doctor.

DISMISSALS:

Students must have a note from their parent/guardian for changes in their dismissal. The school will not accept any changes for dismissal over the phone after 2pm, unless an EMERGENCY.

MORNING DROP OFF:

For safety reasons, we are asking parents to drop off on the sidewalk on the right of the parking lot. Staff will be there as valets and at the crosswalk to guide students to the correct morning recess area. One staff member will be conducting traffic as well. After dropping your child please proceed to the nearest exit path in the parking lot. We are asking that ONLY buses pull through the bus loop. Please remember the buses have the right of way. Drop off is a moving line, please no parking. If you need to enter the building, please park in the parking lot in the spaces marked with a paw. Number spots are for staff only and your consideration of this is appreciated.

AFTER SCHOOL PICK UP:

Pick up students and walkers get dismissed starting at 3:15. WALKERS are dismissed from the left hand side of the school closest to Consentino. Kindergarten will be dismissed first and then all other grades.

Our parking lot is a busy place and your child’s safety is our top priority. Please be sure to park in a space where you are not blocking our buses or another vehicle, and be very cautious crossing the lanes.
