Updates from Ms. Martin

Dear Silver Hill Community,

Happy Saturday! I hope you all are having a wonderful weekend!

A reminder that this Wednesday, May 13th, is an EARLY RELEASE DAY with dismissal at 11:35 am.

THANK YOU to the PTO for the lunch on Monday and treats/snacks on Wednesday and Friday for Teacher Appreciation! We appreciate you!

Spring MCAS Dates - this week! Please be sure your children are well rested and on time for school. They are well-prepared and ready!
Grade 3 Math: May 11 and May 12
Grade 4 Math: May 14 and May 15

***DROP OFF AND PICKUP*** - PLEASE follow the guidelines and keep all students safe! Drop-off and pickup should be done by driving around the back of the school, NOT out in front of the school. We have had several near misses of students getting hit by cars while trying to cross the parking lot. They can be safely dropped off and picked up at the back of the school. Please also drive slowly and carefully while on the school campus. Thank you for your help and cooperation keeping our students safe!

Lost and Found - Thank you to the Student Council for organizing much of the lost clothing! There is A LOT! Please come check it out if your children are missing anything.

Update on Summer Extended Year Programming & Staffing
We are excited to announce a fresh direction for this year’s summer programs! To enhance the student experience, we are revamping our extended-year offerings for grades K-4 through a new partnership with our Discovery and Access 21 Clubs. The Literacy Academy and the Language Institute are merging with Discovery and Access 21 to provide a more hands-on learning experience using DESE-approved curriculum. The district will continue to identify students to invite based on data. In addition, our community partners, The YMCA and The Boys and Girls Club, will be offering an afternoon program with limited openings.

Applications will be going out in the next few weeks - please check your email.

Attached is a summary of the Summer 2026 Learning Opportunities for our students. Please keep in mind that most of these programs are by invitation, based on specific criteria.

Haverhill Community Youth Sports and Activities Directory - So much great information here to get ready for Spring!

Absences: Please alert the office if your child will be absent. Please call 978-374-3448 or email us at silverhillabsences@haverhill-ps.org. Thank you!

Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions. Thank you!

Keep each other well,
Donna Martin, Principal
