A Message from Life Touch about School Pictures
Dear Families,

School pictures are now available!

To see if your child's pictures are available to view, please log in to your account at mylifetouch.com. If you don’t have an account yet, you can create one using your email address.
To locate your child's photos, you'll need their Student ID or Portrait ID and Access Code. If you don't have this information, you can:
  • Check your inbox for an email from Lifetouch that may contain your access credentials and a direct link to your child's images.
  • Wait for your proof sheet to arrive, which will include your Portrait ID and Access Code.
  • Contact the Lifetouch Help Center for assistance

Please note that pictures may not become available for all students at the same time, so check back later if you don't see your child's images yet.

Reminders about Late Arrivals and Early Dismissals
  • If your child is late arriving to school, please Walk them in and Sign them in. We want to be sure all students are signed in and accounted for in our attendance.
  • If you are dismissing your child early, please come Into the school and Sign them out. Please remind them not to run outside to meet you. We will have them meet you in the main office.
Thank you for adhering to these guidelines.

***Also, please remember to drive SLOWLY and CAREFULLY in the parking lot! We have had a couple of close calls recently***

Silver Hill School Site Council

Get Involved! - Please send me an email at donna.martin@haverhill-ps.org if you are interested in serving on the Silver Hill Site Council or if you have any questions. We welcome all parents! If you would like to join but need translation, please let me know and I'll arrange it! We would love your input on the academic and social/emotional goals of the school!

Site Council meetings will typically be held monthly on the first Tuesday of the month. The first meeting will be Tuesday, October 6th. All meetings will be at 6:30 pm and they will be held virtually.

The Silver Hill School Site Council is a representative, school building-based committee established by the school pursuant to Massachusetts General Laws Chapter 71, Section 59C. Teachers, parents/caregivers, and community members can become more committed to improving the school and more supportive of the public school system when they enjoy the opportunity to serve or be represented on a school council that has a role in shaping the goals and programs of the school.

School councils enhance site-based decision making because they expand the participation of the school community in its schools' decision making. The involvement of different groups on the council -- teachers, parents, and non parent community members -- provides the school with different and mutually complementary perspectives on its improvement goals and plans.

In addition, by involving people who work in and support the school in the development of the school's improvement plan, the likelihood will increase that the plan will be successfully implemented.

ChromeBooks

Haverhill Public Schools is a one-to-one district, with each student receiving a ChromeBook. Students new to Haverhill Public Schools will be issued a ChromeBook the first week of school. Kindergarten students will receive a ChromeBook at the kindergarten screening.

HPS Student Device (Chromebook) Insurance: Haverhill Public Schools has chosen School Device Coverage (SDC) to insure the devices that will be given to your student as part of this year’s 1:1 device program. For only $20 per student, this insurance program will protect you and your student(s) in the event that your device is lost, stolen, or damaged accidentally over the course of the school year. Please follow this link for more information and to sign up. Haverhill Student Device Insurance

This information is also posted on the Parent and Student Resources page, Our Technology page, and the HPS Student Technology Device Policy (Spanish Version) document.

No Cell Phones/Smart Watches

Cell phones and Smart watches are not allowed to be used during the school day. The expectation is that they are turned off and kept in the student’s backpack during school hours. They may not be used at any time during the school day, including lunch and recess. If a cell phone or Smart watch is seen by a staff member, it will be confiscated and turned into the main office. The device can be picked up at the office by the student at the end of the school day. Repeated offenses may require the parent to pick up the device and/or require the student to drop it off daily at the office.

No Toys Please

Students are not allowed to bring toys from home into the school. This includes trading cards, fidget toys, figurines, toy cars, dolls or games. Toys are expensive for parents and we would hate for them to get lost or broken. Furthermore, toys brought from home can disrupt the learning at school. While we understand that children may wish to carry familiar toys with them and to show their friends items they consider precious, it has been our experience that bringing toys from home to school can create difficult situations to manage. The students have many toys and games to play with here at school. If toys are found at school they will be collected by staff for safekeeping and returned after school. Thank you for your cooperation and attention to this matter.
