Dear Silver Hill Families,
Happy First Day of Spring! The warm weather really is coming (just after the next snow!!)
Don’t forget…Picture Day today!
I have attached the new dates for the Superintendent candidates’ receptions and final interviews this Thursday, March 22. With all the snow days, these have been delayed so Jared Fulgoni and Anthony Pope will have receptions at 5:00 and 6:00 respectively, with interviews following, and all three finalists, including Margaret Marotta, will have closing statements at 9:00. These will all be held at City Hall. I hope you have a chance to attend.
MCAS testing for grades 3, 4, and 5 is coming up soon, dates are posted on our web site and will be listed in Planning Ahead, below. PLEASE do not plan any vacations or appointments for your child/children during these dates. Schools receive credit for participation, and part of the scoring for the Level rating is based on attendance during testing. We have tried to get you the dates as soon as possible so you can plan ahead. Thank you in advance for sending your child well rested and ready to go on MCAS days. Each grade level 3-5 will have practice tests, so every child can experience the testing protocol and sample questions before the actual testing. No need to stress, it’s what our students learn and do everyday!
Our Tuesday after school fifth grade “Leading Ladies” group is going great! Ms. Symmes has asked that I remind parents/guardians that you need to come into the building and sign your daughter out before she can leave. We will not be releasing any child unless a parent/guardian has signed her out. Thank you!
Hope to see many of you at the VIP Dance for grades 3, 4, 5 on Friday from 6:00 – 8:00, and don’t forget the Health Fair on Saturday from 11:00 – 2:00. This was a great event last year, with lots of valuable resources and information…and fun things to do!
