Dear Silver Hill Families,
Hard to believe it’s the holiday season already! This is a short, but busy, week…
First I’d like to thank everyone who helped out with the float decorating and the Santa Parade. Photos are posted on our web site! The weather held off, our Sand Man didn’t blow away, and it was a great day. Special thanks to Kristina Morowski, who with the help of some elf friends, created a wonderful “Day at Plug’s Pond” float, and to CJ Judson, our very own Santa. His ingenuity, fishing twin, and screw gun transformed his truck into a holiday beach scene, and he even dressed the part for the parade. A fun time was had by all!
Conferences will be held the evening of December 13. This is a very short amount of time for teachers to meet with parents/guardians to review how your child is doing. Please know that although we cannot possibly schedule everyone for that evening, there are many other ways to communicate with your child’s teacher/s. The letter will be coming home soon to schedule your conference, but as always, I encourage you to keep in touch through Project Best books, e-mail, and phone calls. The home school connection is so important for your child’s success as a student.
Congratulations to Alex Handel, Kim Perez, and Paul Corriveau who were all nominated as the YMCA’s Educator of the Year. And to Danielle Gregoire, a parent at Silver Hill and pre-school teacher at Moody, who won the award. I was so happy to see them recognized for their dedication to “our kids”. Not just during this Thanksgiving time, but everyday, I am thankful for the amazing staff at Silver Hill, who consistently go above and beyond for our students. I am blessed to be a part of the Silver Hill school community – the best staff, families, and especially students!!
A reminder that tomorrow, November 22, is an early release day. Early Birds will be dismissed at 11:15, all other students shortly after depending upon when the buses arrive.
Wishing you all a very happy and healthy Thanksgiving Day and some good R&R over the break!
Margaret
