Weekend Update 4-30-18
Dear Silver Hill Families,
Tomorrow begins Teacher Appreciation Week. We have such a dedicated and talented group of educators, and I appreciate them everyday! To my amazing staff, thank you for the caring and upbeat attitude you show each day. The goal of education is to improve the lives of others and your commitment to the extremely hard work of teaching has touched so many children’s lives. Silver Hill ROARS because of all of YOU!
PTO always goes way above and beyond during Teacher Appreciation Week! I know they’ve already got some planned events including our incredible Staff Breakfast and Luncheon, and some surprises! They’ve asked me to send you the request below…sounds like fun!!

Has your student been inspired by any of our AMAZING staff members?! Obviously the answer is yes! Why don’t they really show it to them next week! They can write a story, poem, draw pictures, or even dress up like them! Let’s really have our students show these wonderful people what a difference they are making in our children’s lives! Post pics if you wish to share with the group!
Congratulations to our Peace Poetry winners Jake Costa, Jonah Marley, Lila Dion, Janellie Sanchez, Jude Oosting, Griffin Murphy, Sienna MacKinnon, and William Kelly. Our talented poets will be recognized during a celebration at Northern Essex Community College this Friday at 6:00.
Next Saturday, May 12, from 9:00 – 4:00 we will be having a fun professional development day with Yoga4Classrooms, “Yoga and Mindfulness in the Classroom”. Several classrooms have already implemented yoga into the school day as a way to teach our students (and staff!) healthy strategies to relax. We have ten spots open for parents/guardians who would like to join us. Yoga4Classrooms is run through Childlight Yoga and is a low impact, no strain, lifelong exercise…no yoga clothes necessary, just comfy loose clothing! Please let Sara know by Wednesday, May 2, if you are interested.
A special Thank You to Mayor Fiorentini who joined our second graders on Friday when the “Greening the Gateways” crew began planting a variety of trees to beautify our school campus. The Mayor pitched in with a shovel and every second grader helped! I can’t wait to see our new pink Dogwood tree in bloom! More photos to come tomorrow on the web site.
