Good Afternoon Silver Hill Families,

After speaking with Central  Office and Silver Hill staff today, the following plans have been set.  Please remember due to the nature of the National Health situation at hand, changes may occur:  We will keep you posted as frequently as possible.

  • School will be closed from March 13, 2020 through April 7, 2020.
  • Silver Hill will have grade level packets for each student available at school to be picked up from 9am -12pm tomorrow, Tuesday March 17, 2020.  A few staff will be at the doors to hand off packets to parents/ students.
  • The Silver Hill Adjustment Counseling Staff has also put together some great resources and activities for all of our students.  Be sure to take this packet as well.
  • Silver Hill teachers will be notifying parents in whatever means they usually communicate with them (DOJO, email. REMIND, etc..) any particular instructions or online resources available to you at home.
  • Silver Hill teachers will have “office calling” hours during the regular school day in order to communicate with parents and students.  This will be communicated with you from them as well.
  • It is our hope all staff will be able to reach out to their individual students periodically throughout our extended time off.  This can help with any academic or emotional support that is needed.
  • We will be periodically sharing lists of other resources available so as not to overwhelm anyone with too much information.  This will also allow for some new activities and ideas to be introduced to your children over this extended time away from school.
  • Teachers will be sharing any login information needed for online resources as well.
  • I will be sending more frequent emails to staff and parents to keep everyone up-to-date with any changes to plans and schedules as well as share new resources as they become available.
  • Parents can arrange to pick up any medications that are here at school with Nurse Kelli if needed.  Please email her at kfetti@haverhill-ps.org.
  • Food distribution centers will be open daily from 11-1 at the following locations: Consentino, Nettle, Boys N Girls Club, and the YMCA
  • Many staff and parents asked how to help out during this difficult time.  Unfortunately, helping with distribution of food and materials is not recommended.  However, if you would like to donate a small new unopened craft item or school supply some students may need, we will have a bin at school to drop and pick up as needed.  (books, puzzles, cards, crayons, coloring books)

Please know we are here to help in any way that we can.  Feel free to email me at maryellen.lucas@haverhill-ps.org or Mr parker at bparker@haverjill=ps.org with any questions or concerns.

Be safe and stay healthy!

Thanks for ALL you do, it is APPRECIATED!!
