Good Morning Jaguar Families,

Today is Wednesday March 25, 2020.  Hope you enjoyed the call from Mr. Parker yesterday.  He was very excited to call.  Who will call today??  You will find out soon….

Thanks to everyone who joined in again and sent pictures of Super Hero day yesterday.  We hope even more can join in today for Dress like an Old Person Day. This is in honor of the generation most at risk for the virus!  Some of our pictures should be highlighted on WHAV.

Remember, we need everyone’s help.  Each and everyday there is a competition among some of the district schools about who has more spirit.  We know Jaguars DO so let’s show everyone in the city our spirit! Share those pictures on PTO Facebook or send to Mrs. Lucas.

Remember spirit days for the rest of the week are:

Thursday – Jersey Day – in honor of our favorite sports teams that are not able to play right now

Friday – Pajama Day – because let’s face it, pajamas are the best part of homeschooling!

HAPPY BIRTHDAYS:

We have a special Happy Birthday wish for three Jaguars today, March 25th:

Happy Birthday to: Antonio G, Logan B, and Melina A.

We hope you all have fun-filled birthdays!

AT HOME LEARNING:

We hope everyone is joining the reading challenge sponsored by HAVERHILL PROMISE.  “I Stayed Home and Read… To Help Stop the Spread!”
Let’s see if we can get 100% of Jaguars to take the challenge and read for 20 minutes per day.  Remember to log your reading and send it in weekly to www.haverhillpromise.com/reading-challenge or team@haverhillpromise.com.

We know you can do it, let’s all READ!

The district will soon be sending out a survey regarding technology resources at home.  Please be sure to complete so that the needs of our students can be met as efficiently as possible if the time comes for this.

Grade levels are meeting each day this week and are hoping to have a more clear direction to simplify directions for students and parents moving forward.  I thought I may be able to get that out this week but I would rather wait this week out to get everyone on the same page and be as clear as possible for all.  We truly understand how challenging this can be for everyone in so many different ways. But, we do believe, together we can and will make a difference and lead our Silver Hill Jaguars to the highest level of success!

JAGUAR CORNER:
Please remember to keep sharing pictures of you working and playing hard at home! Check out the Silver Hill website under Jaguar Corner for all the latest photos. You can share by emailing me at maryellen.lucas@haverhill-ps.org. Can’t wait to see what was happening with you all today and throughout the week too!

Joke of the Day:

Tuesday’s joke: What did the baby corn say to the mama corn?…Answer:…Where is popcorn.  hahahaha
Today, here’s a math joke for you…How do you stay warm in any room?  You’ll have to listen in to hear the answer tomorrow.

Have a great day, we miss you all!

Mrs. Lucas
