Good Morning Silver Hill Families,
Today is Friday, March 27th. It’s Mrs. Lucas again. I hope you enjoyed listening to all the special announcers this week, Mr. Parker, Mrs. Neira and Kayleigh, as well as Mrs. Kornachuk. They all did a great job and were so excited to make the call!
The district sent out a survey regarding technology resources at home on Wednesday. Teachers are attempting to call anyone that they are not sure has technology at home to use for school purposes. With the new extended time out of school buildings, the best way to connect is through technology. Please be sure to complete the survey. If you have any trouble you can email the teacher, email myself or call the central office and leave a message for us. We want everyone to be able to access learning with your teachers from home!
Team Haverhill is sponsoring a fun event for the next three days, the HAVERHILL BEAR HUNT! It starts today at 9am and runs through Sunday at 6pm.
Let’s have some town-wide fun and host a (teddy) bear hunt, based on the book “We’re Going on a Bear Hunt”. Please put a teddy bear or other stuffed animal in your window or on your porch, visible from the street, by 9am Friday, March 27th and leave it on display until 6pm Sunday, March 29th. Let’s make this a fun and safe event, and respect everyone’s privacy and safety: stay off properties and keep your 6+ feet! Participants have the option to list what street their bear will be displayed on, but this is not required. You can share your bear pictures here. How many bears can you find?
Would love to see some fun photos. Include the hashtags #BearsofHaverhill #WelcometoHaverhill
To end our spirit week, today is Pajama Day – because let’s face it, pajamas are the best part of homeschooling and what better way to end the week!
Remember, we need everyone’s help. Each and everyday there is a competition among some of the district schools about who has more spirit. We know Jaguars DO so let’s show everyone in the city our spirit! Keep sharing those pictures!
HAPPY BIRTHDAYS:
We have a special Happy Birthday wish for three Jaguars today, March 27th:
Happy Birthday to: Andre P., Daman S., and Joshua G.
We hope you all have a great birthday!
AT HOME LEARNING:
We hope everyone is continuing the reading challenge sponsored by HAVERHILL PROMISE. “I Stayed Home and Read… To Help Stop the Spread!”
Let’s get 100% of Jaguars to take the challenge and read for 20 minutes per day. Let’s all READ!
We are hoping to have all grades communicating daily assignments next week to help structure the at home learning the best way possible. We know some may not have technology access as of yet, but the distribution should be the end of next week. After that more directions will be given for logging in and finding assignments from your teachers online.
JAGUAR CORNER:
Please remember to keep sharing pictures of you working and playing hard at home! Check out the Silver Hill website under Jaguar Corner for all the latest photos. You can share by emailing me at maryellen.lucas@haverhill-ps.org or posting on PTO FaceBook page. The pictures have been amazing and truly make us smile!
