Good evening Jaguar families,
This week was a little bit tricky. All the students going remote reminded us of last spring when the office staff were the only ones in the building. It just wasn’t the same without seeing some of the children’s faces in the hallways again. With that being said, our staff has been working very hard to make sure the instruction has been well thought-out and the students are getting the instruction they need.
With all of the changes coming from our covid-19 numbers, the district is still trying to determine the best approach for our students to say safe. With that being said, the majority of our students are going to be going remote this coming week as well. There is a school committee meeting this Thursday at 7:00 to determine the outcome moving forward. We will update you with info we hear and this is a live stream on Haverhill Community Television website. Stay tuned.

Technology information:
We just wanted to keep you informed that when a student needs to return or swap out a Chromebook that the power cord needs to be returned with it. The district wide IT department is now applying charges to families for missing and/or damaged equipment. It is becoming harder and harder for us to order extra equipment for students that need it. Also, many students are returning damaged Chromebooks. Families are now being invoiced between $160-$200 for Chromebook damages and other monetary amounts for missing power cords.
I would encourage you, if you haven’t done so already, to get the HPS Device Usage Policy signed and send in the associated $20 equipment insurance for your cherub’s device. I have done it with my own children at home. This is going to save you money in the long run if something happens. Please turn it into the school office as soon as possible.
Don’t forget…FLU SHOTS:
The flu vaccine is mandatory as of Dec. 31, 2020. Please send in proof of vaccination to the nurse as soon as possible. kfetty@haverhill-ps.org
