May 10, 2021

Jaguar families,

To all of the mothers out there, I hope you had a beautiful Mother’s Day.  I hope some of  you were able to get pampered a bit and others got some alone time. Either way, you deserve it.

As we have the first week of May behind us, I would like to tell you about what is coming up.   With MCAS here next week and many other end of the year assessments,  I have compiled the most updated  Silver Hill MCAS information.

Also, please be sure your child charges their Chromebooks each evening. They need to pack and bring their Chromebooks and power cords with them each day!

Opt out of MCAS

Mr. Gray sent an email last week about the option of opting out of MCAS this school year. With all that is going on this school year, Opting out of MCAS this year is an option.  If this is something you are interested in please let Mr. Gray or myself know. We will make the necessary arrangements.

IReady Challenge

As you are aware, we have been working towards students using i-Ready personalized instruction within 30-49 minutes PER WEEK, PER SUBJECT. These shoutouts are intended to encourage students to work on their pathway in the suggested timeframe aka “Sweet spot”  (30-49 minutes). The battle against each classroom has been fierce and the students are working hard each and every day.  We will be wrapping up shortly and here’s how the brackets have been shaping up.

We are down to the final four classrooms… Congratulations to Mrs. Staples, Ms. Tolman, Mrs. Kornachuk and team Bonia/Quintal.  Everyone, keep up the great work.

Thank you and I hope you have a great week.
