Dear Silver Hill Kindergarten Families,
We are so excited to welcome your Kindergarten children to our Silver Hill Community!
***The first day of Kindergarten is Tuesday, September 5th!***
Kindergarten screening
Incoming kindergarten students participate in a screening prior to school beginning. This is an opportunity for the staff to get to know your child. Children will work with a staff member one-on-one while a family member completes important paperwork.
Beginning this week you will be able to sign up for a screening appointment using a SignUp Genius link (see below). The week of August 21st, families will receive a phone call from a staff member to schedule a kindergarten screening appointment if they have not done so using SignUp Genius. Screenings will be held August 29, 30, and 31 and typically last about 30 minutes.

Social Stories
We know sometimes the transition to kindergarten can seem overwhelming for some children (and parents/caregivers)! To help ease the transition, a social story was created so that the students will be able to have some familiarity with the school before the first day. Please review the social story with your children – there is one version in English and one in Spanish – they are both attached.

Open House
There will be an Open House for all incoming students K-4 on Monday, August 28, 2023, from 5:00-6:30 pm. We look forward to seeing everyone as we kick off the new school year! There will be a second Open House for K families only on Friday, September 1, 2023.
