Dear Silver Hill Community,
Happy Monday! I hope you all have had a relaxing and peaceful long weekend. It looks like there may be a couple of snow events this week, and I’m sure Dr. Marotta will let us know as soon as possible if there are any changes to the schedule.
Also, keeping the weather and road conditions in mind, please be sure that when you are driving on Silver Hill/Consentino property, you are driving very slowly and carefully. We find that many are speeding dangerously, especially during drop off and pick up, including pick up from Discovery Club and the Y, when it is very dark out. Please take your time and let’s keep everyone safe!
Upcoming i-Ready Testing – Students will be taking the Winter i-Ready Diagnostic Tests starting next week. Reading will begin on January 22nd, and Math on January 29th. Please check to be sure your children have headphones, and encourage them to “show what they know!” 🙂
Valentine’s Day – Some classes may recognize this day with crafts, games, or stories about friendship. If you do choose to send in Valentines for your child’s class, please be sure there is one for each classmate. Also, PLEASE DO NOT SEND IN FOOD OR CANDY OF ANY KIND. There are several students with allergies and we need to keep everyone safe. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.
***I bring this up for Valentine’s Day, but please also do not send food in for birthdays or other occasions. Thank you!
Family Engagement Survey – The Silver Hill School Site Council has put together an anonymous survey for the families of the Silver Hill Community. It is our hope that you are all aware that it has been a goal and priority of ours here at Silver Hill to build and foster partnerships with our entire community. Students benefit and are more successful when their families feel a sense of involvement and that their voices are heard. In an attempt to see how Silver Hill has been doing with this goal, the Silver Hill School Site Council would really appreciate if all families took the time (5-10 minutes) to complete this survey. We will analyze and use this data to make necessary improvements moving into next year and share them all with you. Thank you in advance for your support with this. Again, the survey is anonymous. If you could complete it by Wednesday, January 24th, we would appreciate it. The Survey was sent to all families through email and Remind.
ACCESS Testing continues this week for our Multilingual Learners. They worked hard last week and we are very proud of their effort and progress! 🙂
Please do not hesitate to reach out with any questions.
Sincerely,
Donna Martin, Principal
