Dear Silver Hill Community,
Happy Sunday! I hope you all have had a nice weekend despite the gloomy weather. The meteorologists are certainly undecided about the amount of snow tonight, but it looks like not too much. Please continue to be very careful driving when dropping off and picking up your children – thank you!
Upcoming i-Ready Testing – Students will be continuing the Winter i-Ready Diagnostic Tests this week. Any unfinished Reading tests will be completed, and Math will begin for all others on Monday, January 29th. Please check to be sure your children have headphones, and encourage them to “show what they know!” 🙂
MCAS Testing – For planning purposes, here are the Spring 2024 MCAS testing dates:
April 8th and 10th – Grade 3 ELA
April 9th and 11th – Grade 4 ELA
May 13th and 15th – Grade 3 Mathematics
May 14th and 16th – Grade 4 Mathematics
Valentine’s Day – Some classes may recognize this day with crafts, games, or stories about friendship. If you do choose to send in Valentines for your child’s class, please be sure there is one for each classmate. Also, PLEASE DO NOT SEND IN FOOD OR CANDY OF ANY KIND. There are several students with allergies and we need to keep everyone safe. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.
***I bring this up for Valentine’s Day, but please also do not send food in for birthdays or other occasions. Thank you!
Family Engagement Survey – Thank you to the almost 100 families who have filled out the survey to date – we appreciate it! We are keeping the survey open through the end of this week with the hopes to hear from additional families – we value all input and will be sharing the results with the community. Thank you in advance for your support with this. Again, the survey is anonymous. If you could complete it by Friday, February 2nd, we would appreciate it.
The Survey was sent to all families through email and on Remind, in both English and Spanish.
Please do not hesitate to reach out with any questions.
Donna Martin, Principal
SNACKS – Please be sure and send your children with snacks every day. We do not always have extras to hand out.
LOST AND FOUND – We have a HUGE Lost and Found! (Please see photos below) Please check to see if any of your child’s belongings are in the Lost and Found. Items not claimed will be donated SOON!
Attendance – If your child is tardy, please walk them into the office to be signed in. If your child is going to be absent, please call the school at 978-374-3448 or email us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
