Dear Silver Hill Community,
Happy Sunday! I hope you all are having a nice weekend. It is difficult to believe the year is more than half over! The whole school had a wonderful time celebrating the 100th day on Friday! (see a couple of photos below) 🙂
Snacks – Please be sure and send your children with snacks on a daily basis. The school does provide breakfast and lunch, but does not provide snacks. However, a fruit or vegetable choice is provided to each classroom on Tuesdays and Thursdays. It is fun to watch the children try some new healthy treats!

COVID EXPOSURE – Here are the guidelines:
- If you are exposed/in close contact with someone who tests positive for COVID, quarantine is no longer required nor recommended for children or staff in these settings, regardless of vaccination status or where the exposure occurred.
- All exposed individuals may continue to attend programming as long as they remain asymptomatic. Those who can mask should do so until Day 10, and it is recommended that they test on Day 6 of exposure.
- If symptoms develop, follow the guidance for symptomatic individuals.
- All COVID and other health information can be found here: https://www.haverhill-ps.org/coronavirus/
MCAS Testing – For planning purposes, here are the Spring 2024 MCAS testing dates:
April 8th and 10th – Grade 3 ELA
April 9th and 11th – Grade 4 ELA
May 13th and 15th – Grade 3 Mathematics
May 14th and 16th – Grade 4 Mathematics
Valentine’s Day – Some classes may recognize this day with crafts, games, or stories about friendship. If you do choose to send in Valentines for your child’s class, please be sure there is one for each classmate. Also, PLEASE DO NOT SEND IN FOOD OR CANDY OF ANY KIND. There are several students with allergies and we need to keep everyone safe. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.
***I bring this up for Valentine’s Day, but please also do not send food in for birthdays or other occasions. Thank you!
Please do not hesitate to reach out with any questions.
Sincerely,
Donna Martin, Principal
