Dear Silver Hill Community,

Happy June! I hope you all are well and enjoying the warm and sunny weekend. It is difficult to believe we are upon our last full week of the school year! A reminder that the last day of school, Wednesday, June 12th, is an Early Release Day with dismissal at 11:35 am. Also, a reminder that Discovery Club has concluded for the school year.

From Nurse Kelli – Please plan on picking up your child’s medication from the nurse, including epi-pens and inhalers, before the end of the last day of school.

Driving and Parking Reminders

Please be sure to drive slowly while in the Silver Hill parking lot. The construction is adding to how busy the area is, and we want to be sure all are safe!
Also, please DO NOT pass any buses or vans while they are in the bus loop! This is extremely dangerous for the students!
The numbered spaces in the parking lot are there for Silver Hill staff ONLY. Please DO NOT park in them, even briefly.

Summer Reading!!! – Summer provides a wonderful opportunity for students and families to enjoy great books together! The goal of the Haverhill Public School summer Reading Program is to foster a love of reading. Reading over the summer can also help students to maintain, or even improve their reading skills. In order to meet the needs of each students’ reading skills and interests, the Haverhill Public School Summer Reading lists contain a variety of genres and culturally diverse books at various reading levels. Our lists are identified by grade levels in order to help families choose appropriate books for each child this summer. Please feel free to have your child read any books that interest them though! Summer Discovery Club: There are still openings in the Discovery Club summer program for elementary and middle school students who are not required to attend another summer academic program. The link above will take you directly to the application page on our website, where parents will find the application in multiple languages. There is one application for grades K-12.

When parents choose their child’s grade, it will bring them to the appropriate part of the application. All Discovery Club enrichment programming will be in the morning. There will be NO extended-day Discovery Club programming this summer.

Grade 4 Transition to Middle School – There will be an Open House at Consentino MS on Wednesday, June 5th from 5:00-6:30 pm (flyers below).

***The students will not be touring the middle schools during the school day, so it would be wonderful for you all to attend the Open House and get information and tours.

Field Day for Grades K-3 – Will take place on Thursday, June 6th!

Lost and Found – The Silver Hill Lost and Found is HUGE! Please stop by our lobby to claim any lost items. It will all be donated at the close of the school year.
