Dear Silver Hill Community,
Happy Autumn! I hope you all are having a nice weekend despite the rain. Let’s hope we get some dry weather to head outside for recess this week!
Speaking of the seasons, we are entering cold and flu season! Many families ask us what they can contribute to their children’s classes and/or the school. Here are some suggestions:
Thank you!
***Wednesday, September 25 – Early Release – Dismissal is 11:35 am***
Cookie Dough Fundraiser – starts this week! See more information below in the PTO section.
Morning Car Drop Off – Please do NOT get out of your car to help your child out. This slows down the line; the staff will help your children out of the car and with their backpacks, etc.
Also, please do NOT park in the parking lot and have your child walk to the front door. There are several buses and vans running at that time and it is not safe for them to be crossing. Please drop off your child at the back of the school.
Please do not hesitate to reach out with any questions. Be well and take good care of one another.
Sincerely,
Donna Martin, Principal

Discovery Club – Student applications are now open on the Discovery Club page on the Haverhill Public Schools website. Discovery Club is expected to begin on October 7th.
SEPAC Meeting – Their first meeting is a joint venture with the Special Education Department! They will be having a meet and greet of departments and overall review of procedures etc, but also an introduction to the new IEP form.
The meeting is Monday, September 23rd at 6:00 pm at Haverhill High School, and RSVP is required (and closes at 4pm the day of the event – 9/23).
Their goal for the 2024-2025 is to raise awareness on special education issues/topics, and spread/share whatever useful information they can to the Special Education community in the City of Haverhill. All are welcome!

As part of the District’s 1:1 initiative, every Haverhill Public Schools student receives a HPS-issued Chromebook. HPS offers the opportunity to protect school-issued devices for the school year by paying a Device Waiver Fee. As outlined in the HPS Student Technology Device Policy, this $20 fee will help to cover the costs of potential damage, repair, or loss for the school year for the assigned device. Please note: issues of theft should still be reported to the police.
The Device Waiver Fee is available for purchase throughout the school year.
