Updates from Ms. Martin
Dear Silver Hill Community,
Happy Sunday! If you celebrate, I hope you all had a fun Halloween last night! Trunk or Treat was so much fun – SO wonderful to see all who attended! I included a few photos below.
Wit & Wisdom/Title I Night – Our next family event is approaching! Flyers went home last week, and they are also shown below and attached. If you plan to attend, please send in the bottom part by this Thursday 10/31 so we are sure to have enough pizza! 🙂
Lost and Found – Our Lost and Found pile continues to grow! Please come in the lobby and check it out if your children are missing anything. Also, especially as the colder weather is upon us and more layers are being worn, please LABEL all outerwear with your children’s names, so that we might get it back to them right away. Thank you!
Outdoor Recess – Speaking of outerwear, we will be going outside as much as possible! Please be sure your children have coats, hats, etc. If you need assistance, please reach out!
Lunch Monitors – We are still looking to hire lunch monitors. The hours are 11:00 am – 1:45 pm daily. Please let us know if you are interested!
Picture Retake Day – will be on 11/6. Retake day is for new students and staff members, transfer students, or for anyone who may have missed the initial picture day, OR for anyone who was unhappy with their original picture and would like to give it another try. If a student would like the retake photo to replace the original photo, please have the student return the original picture package to the photographer on picture day. We will replace the original package at no additional cost.
Please do not hesitate to reach out to us with any questions. Be well and take good care of one another.
Sincerely,
Donna Martin, Principal

Additional Information/Reminders
Community Survey – Our friends at Beth Israel-Lahey are asking for our help.  Please help them gather information on the health needs of our community/families.
We want to hear from you! Take our community health survey before November 1 for a chance to win $100: https://survey.jsi.com/s3/FY25-BILH
Qustodio – At Haverhill Public Schools, we’re committed to providing a learning experience that allows your child to grow and flourish with technology.
We’re happy to invite you to join us in this world of digital wellbeing by giving you FREE access to the Qustodio Parents App.
This will provide you with full visibility on how your child is using their school devices. Simply create your account to see your personalized dashboard. For additional information, please click this link:

Device Waiver Fee for Chromebooks
As part of the District’s 1:1 initiative, every Haverhill Public Schools student receives a HPS-issued Chromebook. HPS offers the opportunity to protect school-issued devices for the school year by paying a Device Waiver Fee. As outlined in the HPS Student Technology Device Policy, this $20 fee will help to cover the costs of potential damage, repair, or loss for the school year for the assigned device. Please note: issues of theft should still be reported to the police.
The Device Waiver Fee is available for purchase throughout the school year
Morning Car Drop Off – Please do NOT get out of your car to help your child out. This slows down the line; the staff will help your children out of the car and with their backpacks, etc.
Also, please do NOT park in the parking lot and have your child walk to the front door. There are several buses and vans running at that time and it is not safe for them to be crossing. Please drop off your child at the back of the school.
