Dear Silver Hill Community,
Happy Friday! I hope you all are well and kept warm during this very chilly week! It is nice that it is a bit warmer today and we can open some windows and get some germs out. Speaking of germs, there is a lot of sickness going around! A reminder that your children need to be fever-free for at least 24 hours – with no fever-reducing medicine – before they can return to school. Please help us remind them that hand washing with soap is extremely important as well!
ACCESS Testing will be continuing this week. Our ML students have been working extremely hard and we are VERY proud of them!
i-Ready Diagnostic Testing – Our midyear i-Ready testing will begin with i-Ready Reading on Monday. At the end of the month, your students will receive an i-Ready progress report showing their achievements in Reading and Math so far this year.
Our next ROARS assembly will be on Friday, January 24th, and it will be focused on “Ownership.” The K-1 awards will be held from 9:30-10:00 am, and the 2-4 awards will be held from 10:15-10:45 am. If your child is receiving an award, you will hear from their teacher.
Please do not hesitate to reach out to us with any questions. Be well and take good care of one another.
Sincerely,
Donna Martin, Principal

Hello Silver Hill Families,
Our school will be kicking off the American Heart Association Kids Heart Challenge on JANUARY 24th, 2025! The Kids Heart Challenge is an exciting opportunity for students and staff to help other kids with special hearts, while learning how to keep their own hearts and bodies healthy. Students will also have the opportunity to learn lifesaving Hands-Only CPR!
We invite all to join our Kids Heart Challenge team! We need your help to reach our goal of 100% of families completing Finn’s Mission!
Get started and be one of the first families at our school to complete Finn’s Mission!
Here’s a SNEAK PEAK of this year’s Kids Heart Challenge – you’ll definitely want to check it out!
I can’t wait to see our school create a community of lifesavers this year.
Thank you,
Mr. Murphy, Silver Hill PE Teacher

Qustodio – At Haverhill Public Schools, we’re committed to providing a learning experience that allows your child to grow and flourish with technology.
We’re happy to invite you to join us in this world of digital wellbeing by giving you FREE access to the Qustodio Parents App.
This will provide you with full visibility on how your child is using their school devices. Simply create your account to see your personalized dashboard. For additional information, please click this link:

Device Waiver Fee for Chromebooks
As part of the District’s 1:1 initiative, every Haverhill Public Schools student receives a HPS-issued Chromebook. HPS offers the opportunity to protect school-issued devices for the school year by paying a Device Waiver Fee. As outlined in the HPS Student Technology Device Policy, this $20 fee will help to cover the costs of potential damage, repair, or loss for the school year for the assigned device. Please note: issues of theft should still be reported to the police.
The Device Waiver Fee is available for purchase throughout the school year
Morning Car Drop Off – Please do NOT get out of your car to help your child out. This slows down the line; the staff will help your children out of the car and with their backpacks, etc.
Also, please do NOT park in the parking lot and have your child walk to the front door. There are several buses and vans running at that time and it is not safe for them to be crossing. Please drop off your child at the back of the school.
